Rangers tipped to secure famous win as ‘big’ claim issued by Agbonlahor
Gabby Agbonlahor has tipped Rangers to progress past Braga and into the Europa League semi-final.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted Rangers will be happy with the quarter-final draw as they have avoided the “big boys”.
It was confirmed last Friday (18 March) that the Gers will travel to Braga next month (7 April) before the second leg at Ibrox the following week.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst told Sky Sports the same day that it will be a “very difficult” clash.
The winner will face RB Leipzig or Atalanta in the semi-finals for a place in the final in Seville.
Rangers last faced Braga in the Round of 32 of the same competition during the 2019-20 season as they triumphed 4-2 on aggregate.
“I think they will be happy with the draw,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They’ve stayed away from the big boys left in the competition.
“There’s no reason why they can’t believe they can go through. They’ve got to this stage, the quarter-finals, Rangers have to believe they can do it. I’m sure they do.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if both British clubs go through to the semi-final.
“Anything’s possible when you’ve got that far into the competition.”

Ianis Hagi was the hero during the tie in February 2020 with two second-half goals as Rangers beat Braga 3-2 at Ibrox in the first leg.
Ryan Kent scored the winner out in Portugal to secure progression before Steven Gerrard’s side were beaten by Bayer Leverkusen in the Round of 16.
In other news, an Ibrox Source has revealed Rangers are to listen to offers for a 25-year-old.
