Rangers told to accept Glen Kamara offer amid ‘£25m’ claim – pundit

Frank McAvennie has told Michael Beale to start Glen Kamara for Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker insisted Kamara should be playing so the Gers can sell him for a high price.

According to Italian outlet Tutto Salernitana (3 September), the 27-year-old is in the sights of Serie A sides Salernitana and Monza.

The midfielder is said to have submitted a transfer request to the Light Blues in an effort to force his way out of Ibrox in January.

The Finland international’s contract runs until 2025 after signing an extension last year.

Kamara had been making a return to the Rangers XI before the winter recess under former manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

The centre-mid has featured in just seven league games so far this season.

McAvennie has urged the new manager to give Kamara the chance to command a fee.

It is a shame when you have got great players that do not get a game,” he told Football Insider.

Kamara was quoted at £25m and now there is nothing. It is strange.

Rangers

For a club that needs money, you would think the board would be saying ‘get him on the pitch’.

I think the players had lost interest in Gio and it just shows you how quick things can turn. Celtic and Rangers fans demand wins every game, you have never heard anything like it. People just lose sight because it is Rangers.

In other news, a Glasgow pundit doesn’t trust Rangers boss Michael Beale after what he’s heard – ‘this won’t go down well’.
