Rangers told to reject Glen Kamara offer – Glasgow pundit

Rangers are losing too many players that they can’t replace.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie urged the Gers against selling Glen Kamara who has been “one of their best players”.

The 27-year-old’s current contract runs until 2025 after he signed from Dundee back in 2019.

But as quoted by The Herald (31 May), boss Michael Beale suggested Kamara has “been here too long” and “needs a break” to decide on his future.

According to The Sun (6 June), Besiktas and Galatasaray are interested in the Finland international but it could cost £6million to lure him away from Ibrox.

Kamara made 35 appearances for the Gers across all competitions this season but was only in the starting XI for 18 of those outings.

Of his 11 Premier League starts, only four came under previous boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst, the other seven came under Beale.

McAvennie insisted the Gers shouldn’t get rid of Kamara.

I do not know why he was not getting in the team,” he told Football Insider.

He was one of their best players.

When you are not playing every week you are not at the same level as the rest of them, no matter how hard you train.

You can do all this running but you are not match fit and it is a totally different feeling.

There is a lot of players going out and I do not know who is coming in to fill that.
