Rangers told to ‘take what they can’ for Alfredo Morelos amid ‘terrible’ claim – pundit

Frank McAvennie has told Rangers to take “whatever they can” for Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent in January.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said that allowing the pairs’ contracts to run down is a “terrible indictment” of the club.

Morelos, 26, and Kent, 26, have just over six months left on their Ibrox contracts and are free to negotiate with other clubs in January.

On Saturday (10 December), Football Insider revealed that the Light Blues have failed to agree a new contract with Morelos after he demanded £45,000 per week.

On 1 October, we broke the news that Kent has also rejected a new ‘big-money’ contract offer as he sets his sights on a move to the Premier League.

Speaking at the Rangers AGM, as relayed by Sky Sports (6 December), chairman Douglas Park has now said that the duo’s contract demands may be “unattainable”.

McAvennie insists the Light Blues need to take anything they can get in January to avoid the pair leaving for free.

They are not going to get any money for Morelos or Kent at the end of the season,” he told Football Insider.

Rangers

It is a terrible indictment of Rangers why they have let it go that far. I am sure that is Ross Wilson.

I would take whatever they can in January for the two of them. Take it and move on if they are not going to sign a new contract.

In other news, Douglas Park ‘wants out’ of Rangers – ‘from what I’ve been told,’ expert reveals.
