Rangers transfer news: Sheffield Wednesday submit Scott Wright offer – sources
Sheffield Wednesday have offered a contract to Rangers winger Scott Wright, sources have told Football Insider.
Wright’s deal with the Gers has one year left, and the club are willing to let him leave for a six-figure fee this summer.
However, Sheffield Wednesday will face competition to land his signature as sources revealed that Wright has received interest from several League One and Championship clubs.
After narrowly avoiding relegation last season, the West Yorkshire club are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the new campaign.
The Owls were the second-lowest-scoring team in the Championship during the 2023-24 campaign, which is why attacking quality is needed.
Sheffield Wednesday would gain an experienced winger
The 26-year-old might primarily be a right-winger, but he’s versatile enough to play on the left or in an attacking midfield role as well.
Wright has spent his entire career in the Scottish football system, having previously played for Aberdeen and Dundee.
He would bring plenty of experience to Hillsborough after playing 126 games in the Scottish Premiership, in which he scored 10 goals and created nine assists.
Wright also boasts European experience in both the Champions League and the Europa League.

The Owls have already been active in this window after signing Jamal Lowe on a two-year deal.
The striker scored nine goals in the Championship last season during a loan move to Swansea City.
