Rangers TV pundit: Crunch talks on ice after Steven Davis reveal
Alan Hutton has suggested Rangers will put all contract talks on ice until May at the earliest.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Gers defender and Rangers TV pundit insisted both club and players would want to avoid any potential distractions ahead of a huge month.
As quoted by the Daily Record on Monday (28 March), Steven Davis revealed “contract talks (are) only coming to fruition at this kind of stage (of the season”.

The 37-year-old is one of five senior players out of contract at the end of the season.
However, Hutton insisted all discussions would be shelved until after the “vitally important” April schedule.
“I think all contract talks will be put to one side, especially for this month,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“As we’ve said, it’s vitally important. It’s really going to show you where Rangers are going to end up towards the end of the season after this month.
“I think they’ll (contract talks) be parked up at this moment in time. The players will feel the exact same. They won’t want any distractions coming into some huge games.
“So I think that’s right for the club and also the players. I’m sure there will be discussions in the background that just probably haven’t hit the media quite yet.”
As well as Davis, Connor Goldson, Allan McGregor, Scott Arfield and Leon Balogun are also out of contract this summer.

The quintet have been first-team regulars all season, with Davis’ 24 appearances the least among the five.
Meanwhile, Goldson has played three more games (48) than anyone else at Ibrox this season.
