Rangers TV pundit fears Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos exits after source’s update

Alan Hutton has raised fears Rangers could be forced to cash in on both Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent this summer.

The former Gers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, admitted the pair would be a “huge loss” for Giovanni van Bronckhorst as they head into the final 12 months of their contracts.

An Ibrox source told Football Insider earlier this month (7 April) that Rangers are braced for bids for Morelos, 25, this summer and will hold out for a fee of over £13million.

The Gers’ attempts to tie the Colombian down to a new deal have failed.

With Kent also out of contract in 2023, Hutton admitted he fears the attacking duo could be on their way.

Discussing Morelos’ £13million-plus price tag, Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think it’s quite a big drop from what we were talking about a couple of seasons ago.

“When you look at the form that he’s been in recently, I think you’d probably want more than that. The only downside is he’s going into his final year.

“If you can’t get him to sign a contract now, there’s an opportunity that he leaves for nothing. It’s a huge decision.

“You look at Ryan Kent as well, they’re in the exact same position. If you can’t tie them down to a long-term deal and you don’t sell them, they could walk away

“That would be a huge loss to Rangers, those two.”

Morelos is out for the season after suffering a thigh injury on international duty.

Meanwhile, Kent, 25, made his 40th appearance of the campaign in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Celtic.
