Rangers TV pundit thrilled by what he saw Aaron Ramsey keep doing v Dundee – ‘incredible’

Alan Hutton has heralded the “incredible” quality shown by Aaron Ramsey for Rangers in Sunday’s 2-1 win over Dundee.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender and Rangers TV pundit insisted the 31-year-old showed his class with his “touches” on a “bobbly” Dens Park pitch.

Ramsey scored his first goal for Rangers in what was his first Premiership start in the Light Blues’ 2-1 win.

He started the game on the right-hand side of the attacking midfielders but was moved centrally for the second half.

Hutton applauded Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s tactical tweak and insisted Ramsey is starting to show his true quality in the starting XI.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I don’t prefer to see him out wide but I think even in the first half, when he was out there, some of his touches were incredible.

“Especially on a bobbly pitch, to keep killing the ball the way he did, you just see his talent.

“I think playing more centrally, he can affect the game. He can get into intelligent pockets of space, he can turn, he can make things happen and score goals as well.

“That’s where I would rather see him moving forward. I like how he’s now starting to get minutes, he’s looking sharper and looking fitter.”

Ramsey has now played six times for Rangers since joining on loan from Juventus in January.

Sunday was only his third start for the Glasgow giants, with the other two having come in the Scottish Cup.
