Mainstay must be axed: Three things we learned from Rangers win against St Johnstone
Holt deserves a run of games
Holt had a fine game alongside Graham Dorrans in the Rangers engine-room and offered something very different to Ryan Jack.
Jack, who missed the St. Johnstone game through suspension, is much-more defence minded than Holt and the former Hearts midfielder gave Rangers a different energy.
Holt, 24, will probably drop out for the League Cup semi-final against Motherwell but should get some more games in the middle of the park ahead of mainstay Jack, 25, who should remain out of the side for the next game.
Despite his lack of game-time, Holt does seem to be a bit of a favourite of Caixinha’s so it could help him over the next few weeks.
