Rangers victims of ‘harsh’ decision as Alfredo Morelos footage analysed – Hutton
Alan Hutton has claimed the decision not to award Alfredo Morelos’ first goal for Rangers against Aberdeen was “harsh”.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers right-back said strikers would like to be given the benefit of the doubt in tight offsides but insisted the decision is always going to go against them.
As shown on Sky Sports (31 October), Morelos thought he had scored for the Light Blues but the flag was up for offside.
The disallowed goal was checked by VAR official Nick Walsh who agreed with the onfield decision.
The 26-year-old found the back of the net again before full time and despite a VAR check was allowed to stand.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side went on to win the game 4-1.
Hutton insisted offside decisions are going to go against the attacker more often than not.
“I suppose in a way it can be harsh,” he told Football Insider.

“Especially now with how good VAR can be, especially with offsides, he is offside. It is a good move but he is just fractionally offside. At the end of the day it is always going to be given.
“Attackers would probably like to see themselves given the benefit of the doubt. It would probably be good for football in general, more goals. But at the end of the day it is offside and it is going to be given.“
In other news, a pundit has suggested Sean Dyche could be new Rangers manager after Sky update.
