
Rangers want next manager on interim basis, current favourite will accept – report

Rangers chairman Dave King has admitted that the next manager at Ibrox will be on an interim basis and Alex McLeish is willing to accept those terms, a report says.
According to the Scottish Sun, McLeish, who is the current favourite for the job, will be more than happy to rejoin Rangers on a short-term deal.
There has been no contact between the former Birmingham and Aston Villa boss and the Rangers hierarchy, but he admitted that he would be more than happy to make a comeback whilst working for as a pundit for Sky Sports on Sunday.
Warburton left Rangers in controversial circumstances last Friday and Graeme Murty has been made caretaker for the time being.
Murty won his first match in charge 2-1 against Greenock Morton in the Scottish Cup on Sunday.
McLeish managed the Light Blues for five years before he left the club in 2006. He had an impressive 65% winning record at the club and won the league on three occasions. In 2003 he managed to achieve a domestic treble.
While at Birmingham City, the 58-year-old was made a hero when he won the 2011 League Cup after beating Arsenal at Wembley.
His last job in management was with Zamalek in Egypt, where he was in charge for just over two months before he was sacked.
