Rangers won’t fork out for Alfredo Morelos after source’s ‘incredible’ reveal – expert

Alfredo Morelos does not deserve a mega-money new Rangers contract.

That’s according to former Gers defender Alan Hutton, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Morelos’ contract situation.

The 26-year-old has just over six months left on his Ibrox contract and could leave the club for free in the summer.

On Saturday (10 December), sources told this site that the Light Blues have failed to agree a new contract with the striker after he demanded £45,000-per-week.

The Colombia international told the club that he wanted a pay hike that would make him the highest paid player at the club.

Speaking at the Rangers AGM, as relayed by Sky Sports (6 December), chairman Douglas Park has now said that the attacker’s contract demands may be “unattainable”.

When asked if the Glasgow giants would be willing to fork out for Morelos, Hutton told Football Insider:On current form, no.

That is incredible for any team in Scotland to be paying that sort of wage. I can’t see that happening.

Rangers

You understand why the likes of Ross Wilson has said about the stumbling blocks. He did not exactly give the figures but you knew what he meant. I can’t see it happening.

Morelos came on against [Bayer] Leverkusen and he did play well. I think Beale’s style of football is good for him because he is involved in the game. But if that is what he is asking for then I can’t see Rangers paying that.

In other news, a Rangers expert has been impressed by Ryan Kent after what he’s just seen in person.
