Rangers work on Nedim Bajrami deal amid ‘advanced talks’ – sources
Rangers are keen on bringing Sassuolo midfielder Nedim Bajrami to Ibrox as a replacement for Todd Cantwell, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed that the Glasgow giants are monitoring Bajrami, 25, now that Cantwell finally looks set to leave the club.
Any move for the Albania international will depend on outgoings with Philippe Clement’s side strapped for cash following their Champions League elimination.
Sassuolo suffered relegation to Italy’s Serie B last season so the club may be keen on striking a deal with Rangers.
Nedim Bajrami wanted by Rangers as Todd Cantwell successor
The Albanian was a standout for his country at this summer’s Euro 2024, scoring the competition’s fastest-ever goal in their 2-1 defeat to Italy in Group B.
Bajrami has failed to establish himself as a regular in Sassuolo’s starting eleven, starting just 27 games of the 52 appearances he’s made for the club.

He has since started in two of Sassuolo’s three Serie B games this season but has yet to register a single goal or assist.
Rangers could be set for a busy transfer deadline day as they seek to shift multiple players that have been deemed surplus to requirements.
