Rangers expecting Nicolas Raskin offer 'soon'
Rangers are expecting to receive offers for Nicolas Raskin soon after his displays at the World Cup, sources have told Football Insider.
The 25-year-old was highlighted as one of his country's outstanding players as Belgium reached the quarter finals, and will now return to Ibrox following a short break.
However, his displays for his national team have inspired renewed interest from clubs across Europe who are now readying offers to lure him away from Rangers this summer.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Rangers are expecting to receive offers for Raskin and it will be difficult to prevent his departure.
A number of clubs across Europe's top leagues are now keeping a close eye on his situation amid a growing belief he will not stay at Ibrox beyond the summer window.
That includes multiple clubs in the Premier League, who believe they will be able to match Raskin's asking price despite Rangers hoping to drive up the fee.
What is Rangers' updated stance on Nicolas Raskin?
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 16 July that Rangers are reluctant to lose Raskin this summer and could look to price him out of a move.
However, a number of his interested clubs are believed to be financially capable of pulling off a deal and could now look to capitalise following his impressive World Cup.
Scouts were keeping a close eye on his performances in the USA, Canada and Mexico, and amid a growing feeling he could leave Rangers, clubs are now prepared to pounce.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Yeah, for sure. I think there was interest in Nicolas Raskin even before his World Cup performances.
"They've only enhanced his reputation and I'm sure will bring more eyes onto the midfielder as well.
"He's got two years left on his contract at Ibrox and Rangers are now bracing for offers in the summer transfer window, that has only increased now after the World Cup.
"For Raskin himself, if a big-money offer does arrive from a club in one of Europe's top leagues, that is something he would like to explore.
"He'll want to play at the highest level and continue what he's done for Belgium at the World Cup, so look, I think it's going to be really difficult for Rangers to keep hold of Raskin."
How much will Raskin cost interested clubs?
Despite Rangers bracing for offers for Raskin, the Ibrox club have maintained that any bid will have to be suitable for them if they are to entertain his exit.
Premier League clubs are considered the most financially capable despite interest from clubs in the Serie A and Bundesliga, but the level of interest could drive up his price.
Football Insider revealed on 1 July that Rangers are hoping to spark a bidding war for Raskin in an attempt to get the highest fee possible as they brace for offers.
The Light Blues had previously been demanding £20m to allow the 25-year-old to leave the club this summer, but are now ready to up that valuation amid significant interest.
A fee of around £25million is now likely to be enough to lure him away, although that price tag could rise again depending on whether there is a willingness to match it.
