Rangers told Fenerbahce's stance on accepting Ogus Aydin offer

Rangers have been warned they will find it tough to convince Fenerbahce to part ways with Oguz Aydin, sources have told Football Insider.

The 25-year-old joined the Turkish giants in 2024, and made 39 appearances across all competitions last season despite starting just 12 of those.

Suggestions he could be made available have sparked interest from a number of clubs across Europe, but his club are currently reluctant to see him leave.

As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider's Transfer Insider podcast, Fenerbahce are likely to demand a significant fee from Rangers should they wish to do a deal.

Derek McInnes is determined to bolster his squad out wide in the coming weeks, and Aydin has emerged as a leading target, but it may be difficult to get a deal over the line.

It has been a busy window for the Turkish outfit following big-name arrivals including Mason Greenwood, Sidiki Cherif and Nathan Ake, but they are still keen to keep their best players.

Could Rangers make a move to sign Oguz Aydin?

Football Insider revealed on 7 August that Rangers are plotting a move to sign Aydin after they made the addition of a new winger their priority before the end of the window.

The 25-year-old has emerged as a leading target for the Ibrox club as they accelerate their transfer plans following what has been a disappointing start to the new season.

However, any deal may not be straightforward given his club's demands, and could force Rangers to assess their other options in the coming weeks.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: "Obviously wingers are a key priority for Rangers. They're happy that they got the deal done for Yokata from Hanover.

"Derek McInnes has been quite honest that they were looking to bring in a right winger and potentially a left winger as well. Aydin is the latest name to be linked with them.

"I don't think Fenerbahce would want to let him leave on the cheap either, he still has two years to run on his contract there.

"He's a Turkey international and Fenerbahce are not keen to lose too many players this summer, so they're not going to make it easy for any club to come in and sign Aydin.

"So it's a difficult deal to do for Rangers, but they're obviously keen to bring in Aydin to add to their squad before the close of the window."

Which other clubs are interested in signing Aydin?

Having already completed the signing of Daisuke Yokota from Hannover this week, McInnes is hopeful of adding at least one new winger to his squad before deadline day.

However, Rangers' pursuit of Aydin could be further complicated by the level of competition they will face in their attempts to get a deal over the line this month.

The Ibrox club are far from the only ones in the race for the Turkey international, with mutliple teams from across Europe keeping a close eye on his situation.

Football Insider revealed on 8 August that Rangers are in danger of missing out on Aydin after Feyenoord, Espanyol and Hamburg joined the race for his signature.

The three European clubs are prepared to rival Rangers in their pursuit, which could complicate any offer the Ibrox club make to lure Aydin to Scotland this summer.
