Rangers fans say the same thing about Jens Hjerto-Dahl after Celtic twist
Reports emerged on Friday that the Tromso midfielder has made a move to Ibrox his preferred destination this summer.
The 20-year-old has been convinced by Derek McInnes of the project, and both clubs are believed to be close to reaching an agreement.
Cardiff City had been chasing the midfielder alongside Celtic, but both have failed in their attempts to lure him to their clubs.
As a result, Rangers fans have been quick to laugh at both clubs after their failed attempts to get a deal over the line.
Now, the Norway Under 21 international is on track to become the Gers’ seventh signing of the summer.
Rangers close in on Jens Hjerto-Dahl
Hjerto-Dahl would no doubt be a superb signing if Rangers can get a deal over the line.
The club were seemingly in a two-way race with Cardiff to secure the signature of the youngster.
However, Sam C’s report revealed Celtic’s approach, in what was a shock twist to the saga.
The Hoops have had a miserable transfer window so far, and have only brought in one signing to date.
Therefore, when it was revealed that Hjerto-Dahl turned down Celtic for a potential move to Rangers, the Ibrox faithful were quick to mock their Old Firm rivals on X.
Who else are Rangers looking to sign this summer?
On top of Hjerto-Dahl, Rangers have also been looking to sign Vaclav Cerny this summer.
The 28-year-old has emerged as a target for the Gers one year after his successful loan spell at Ibrox.
However, Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Rangers will struggle to reach an agreement with Besiktas to re-sign Cerny.
The Turkish side signed the attacking midfielder for £4.2million last summer, and they are expected to demand an increase on that fee if he is to depart in the coming weeks.
Rangers are likely to struggle to meet this asking price, which could end any potential hopes of completing a move.
Nevertheless, it remains to be seen where Cerny will be playing his football throughout the 2026-27 campaign as rumours continue to circulate.
