Rangers handed fresh hope of Mikey Moore deal as talks confirmed

Rangers appear to have just been handed renewed hope of sealing a second loan spell for Tottenham Hotspur winger Mikey Moore.

The Lilywhites are yet to make a decision as to where the 18-year-old will play his football in the new season, with the option of him becoming a first-team player still on the table for his parent club.

Rangers remain een to take the starlet back to Ibrox for another season, while significant Bundesliga and Dutch Eredivisie interest has also emerged in recent weeks.

Football Insider revealed last month that PSV Eindhoven, Borussia Dortmund and Koln are interested in a loan deal for the wide man.

Our site also exclusively revealed that Tottenham have rejected an offer for Moore from Ipswich Town.

In the meantime, Moore has been turning out for Spurs in their pre-season preparations, and played 63 minutes in the 2-0 win over Auckland FC on Sunday morning.

Roberto De Zerbi has had the academy graduate heavily involved so far this season, but he dropped a major hint after the Auckland clash that a move elsewhere could still be on.

Tottenham working to bring in more wingers

Tottenham have had a huge summer in the transfer market so far, adding Mateus Fernandes, Sandro Tonali and Jan Paul van Hecke in big-money deals.

The North Londoners are in the process of overhauling their squad after their relegation scare last term, and it is expected that several more new faces could arrive in the coming weeks.

De Zerbi dropped a big hint to that effect on Sunday, as he told Football London after the win over Auckland that the club are working to add more wingers to their squad.

The Italian boss suggested that he will "speak with" Moore and his agent, in order to then "find the best solution for everyone."

That suggests that the door is likely still open for Rangers to potentially bring their fans' favourite back to Ibrox.

However, it appears that their chances are likely to hinge on whether Tottenham can get their desired winger targets over the line before the end of the window.

Mikey Moore 'personal links' mean Rangers return still possible

Former Aberdeen chief executive Keith Wyness told Football Insider earlier in July that Moore still has strong "personal links" at Ibrox, that could yet see him return to the club.

The former boardroom man believes that the player would rather take the "easier" option of heading back to Rangers for another year, where he already knows the enrivonment and his teammates.

However, Wyness instead urged the youngster's agent to try and tempt him into making the move to the Bundesliga, in order to test himself at a higher level.

Both options seemingly remain on the table for Moore at the moment, while the prospect of first-team football at Tottenham could also materialise.
