Raphinha could ‘throw his toys out the pram’ after ‘crazy’ £60m Leeds United update – pundit
Alan Hutton has suggested Raphinha could “throw his toys out the pram” if he feels Leeds United are pricing him out of a move this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender admitted the 25-year-old could grow unhappy at Elland Road over the transfer window.
As reported by The Athletic (3 June), Leeds have set a £60million-plus asking price on the Brazilian’s head after avoiding relegation.

The winger did have a relegation release clause in his terms.
However, the Whites are now able to demand what they want for his capture.
Hutton admitted the eight-figure price tag is “crazy money” and that Raphinha may object to the club’s valuation.
“60million? Some of these prices, honestly, it’s just crazy money, isn’t it?” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“He’s one of their top players from me, him and Kalvin Phillips. I totally get Leeds wanting top dollar for him.
“Is anybody going to pay that? That’s the big question mark over him. There’s no doubting his ability, what he can bring and what he can give to your team. Of course, it’s a lot of money.
“There could be a team out that are willing to pay for him. Are there any serious contenders to actually buy him? Or are they putting this fee out there so nobody comes close to him.
“He looks the type of player who wouldn’t be slow in coming forward and telling the club what he thinks, if he does feel they’re taking the rip out of him a little bit.
“As a player, if you’re the top guy, the main guy within the dressing room in the Premier League, you need to expect the club are going to want to get top money for you. They’re not going to let you go on the cheap, that’s part of being an exceptional player, which he is.

“The only problem with him is he looks the type who could throw his toys out the pram if he doesn’t get what he wants. Is it worth having an unhappy player there?
“They’re going to have to come to some sort of agreement because he signed a contract with the club. Whoever’s coming in for him is going to have to meet the valuation to release him from that.”
