‘Rasmus Hojlund Man United exit gathers pace with Naples flight revelation’

Rasmus Hojlund’s Manchester United exit appears imminent after a major development regarding his future.

The 22-year-old endured a tough Premier League campaign, scoring just four goals in 32 top-flight appearances.

But Hojlund was not alone in his Man United struggles, as the Old Trafford club managed a woeful 15th place finish.

Meanwhile, the Europa League final handed Ruben Amorim’s men the opportunity to end an otherwise poor season on a high, but the North West side were instead beaten 1-0 by Tottenham on 21 May.

Man United are set to swap Hojlund for Napoli’s Osimhen

Amid his Premier League woes, Hojlund fared somewhat better in the Europa League, notching six goals in 15 outings.

But as reported by The Sun [29 May], a Man United transfer chief, Matt Hargreaves, recently flew out to Naples to discuss a swap deal for the Danish striker and Victor Osimhen.

The report adds that the Serie A champions are keen on Hojlund, while they are willing to part company with Osimhen, who is enjoying a loan spell with Turkish outfit Galatasaray.

Man United would get the better end of the Hojlund, Osimhen swap deal

After suffering one of the worst seasons in their history, Amorim’s men must ensure that they perform well in the transfer market this summer as they prepare to achieve more success next season.

Hojlund has struggled in the Premier League this term

Man United are set to sign Matheus Cunha for his £62.5million release clause, while the Brazilian forward has enjoyed a strong campaign with Wolves.

But as Amorim’s side look to further bolster their forward line, trading the services of Hojlund for that of Osimhen could prove to be a fruitful deal for the Old Trafford side.

Hojlund has failed to live up to expectations in the North West, whereas the Nigeria international has fired Galatasaray to the Turkish Super Lig title by scoring 25 goals in 29 top-flight appearances this season.

Furthermore, Osimhen has previously performed well for parent club Napoli and spearheaded the Italian side’s title charge back in 2022/23.

The 26-year-old could prove to be a regular goalscorer in the Premier League, a feat which Hojlund has struggled to achieve.
