Rasmus Hojlund sends message as new Man United signing arrives
Man United star Rasmus Hojlund took to social media to welcome new signing Patrick Dorgu and the defender’s signing was confirmed.
The 20-year-old left-back joined Ruben Amorim’s side from Serie A club Lecce for a reported £25million fee, signing a five-and-a-half-year deal.
United fans have their collective eyes on a different player, however, and have urged the club to re-sign Anthony Elanga due to his impressive form at Nottingham Forest.
Dorgu had starred for Lecce before moving to Old Trafford, starting all 23 of his games across all competitions, scoring three goals, and providing one assist in his 2000 minutes of action.
Rasmus Hojlund delighted to see Denmark teammate Patrick Dorgu join him at Man United
Hojlund, on the other hand, has seriously struggled this season, starting 19 of his 30 games across all competitions, scoring seven goals, and providing one assist in his 1686 minutes on the field.
The Denmark international was benched for United’s 2-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday (February 2) with Amorim preferring to play Kobbie Mainoo as the number nine, a move that had fans perplexed.
Hojlund took to Instagram to send a message to his international and now club teammate, simply saying: “Welcome my friend.”

Dorgu’s signing comes as Lisnadro Martinez seemingly picked up a serious knee injury in the game with Palace, with fans speculating he could be out for months.
Amorim’s side will face former interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s struggling Leicester City side in the FA Cup on Friday (February 7).
