Rayan Ait-Nouri reacts to Hwang Hee-chan post amid Wolves exit update

Hwang Hee-chan’s latest post has been liked by a former Wolves teammate amid uncertainty around the forward’s future at the club.

The South Korean international joined Wolves from RB Leipzig in 2022, but following a frustrating season he could be set to leave Molineux this summer.

Vitor Pereira preferred the likes of Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen over the 29-year-old as the Portuguese manager led Wolves to a 16th placed finish amid relegation concerns when he arrived.

Hwang had impressed in the 2023/24 season, scoring 12 Premier League goals under Gary O’Neil, but he hasn’t been able to rediscover his best form since.

Hwang looks likely to leave Wolves this summer.

Ait-Nouri reacts to Hwang update

Taking to Instagram (28 June) Hwang posted a series of pictures of him enjoying his post-season break, with the striker keen to fight for his place next season under Pereira.

Hwang’s caption for his post tagged sportswear brand Nike and was liked by former teammate Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Ait-Nouri departed Wolves earlier in the window to join Manchester City in a £36.3million deal.

It was reported that Hwang would be one of five players Wolves are willing to listen to offers on this summer alongside Boubacar Traore, Tommy Doyle, Sam Johnstone and Craig Dawson.

Chances limited for Hwang as departure looms

Football Insider verdict

Even with the departure of Matheus Cunha, the signing of Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo signals Hwang would only be a fringe player should he remain at the club.

Stand Larsen was one of few positives last season as the Norwegian marked his maiden Premier League campaign with 14 goals in 35 appearances.

The 25-year-old is likely to link up with Lopez and lead the line for Wolves next season and that partnership could be a deadly one.

Hwang’s Wolves record

Hwang can operate out wide, but in Pereira’s preferred three at the back formation he would be forced to change his game which would limit his attacking impact.

It was also revealed by Football Insider that Wolves will battle Brighton for the signing of Harvey Elliott.

Pereira therefore is still active in the market for attackers signalling Hwang is not in the manager’s plans.

Wolves are now awaiting offers for the player to boost their transfer funds.
