Not for sale – Reliable journalist details latest on Leeds mainstay amid Championship interest

By Danny Wright

Leeds are not looking to sell Stuart Dallas this summer despite reported interest from one of their Championship rivals, according to a reliable journalist.

Yorkshire Evening Post reporter Lee Sobot claimed on his personal Twitter account on Monday that Dallas, 26, is firmly in Thomas Christiansen’s plans and the Whites are looking to keep hold of him past Thursday’s transfer deadline

The Yorkshire Evening Post has previously reported that Norwich were eyeing up a late move for the winger, who is in the final year of his contract at Elland Road.

Dallas hasn’t been in Christiansen’s immediate first-team plans in the opening fixtures of this season, scoring once in four Championship appearances, all of which coming off the bench.

However he was no doubt one of Garry Monk’s favourites last term, when he made 35 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals and supplying three assists in the process.

Football Insider Verdict

Leeds have a good number of wingers in the squad after what has been a major summer splurge by Christiansen. Dallas is a player that they could definitely get rid of, especially now that he is in the last year of his contract. Leeds need to direct their funds into signing a striker to replace Chris Wood, and if they can make a quick buck by selling the Northern Irish international, then they should seriously consider changing their stance on Norwich’s interest. It’s going to be a busy few days for Leeds with deadline day approaching. They need a striker but could also do with a centre-back.
