Reliable journalist expects Leeds signings from Spanish club due to connections
By Derek Smithson
Leeds should be making a signing from Spanish club Cultural Leonesa, according to a reliable journalist.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Lee Sobot has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Whites have formed a close connection with the Segunda Divison side, which is the second tier of Spanish football.
It is understood that the two teams have struck up a partnership and Leeds could now bring in some new recruits to their development squad.
The two teams could now set up a feeder system and Chelsea’s connection with Dutch outfit Vitesse Arnhem is a prime example of how these work.
Thomas Christiansen has been keen to bolster his Leeds squad already this summer and it seems they could now bring in some fresh faces to their Under-23s side.
The Whites have had a good recent history of brining through players to the senior set-up, with Ronaldo Vieira and Kalvin Phillips both making a seamless transition last season.
The Yorkshire giants also have a good number of Spaniards at Elland Road and could welcome some more from Cultural Leonesa, who have just been promoted into La Liga 2.
Pablo Hernandez and summer recruit Samuel Saiz are two Spanish representatives in Leeds’ senior squad, something which could become a regular sight at Elland Road.
In other Leeds transfer news, they have asked a Premier League club to sign their available striker on loan.
