Report details Amanda Staveley’s long term intentions ahead of Newcastle takeover
Amanda Staveley and PCP Capital Partners have a long term plan for Newcastle United if they manage to pull off their proposed takeover from current owner Mike Ashley, according to a report.
Newcastle United fan website NUFC Fans Utd claim that after having spoken to PCP Capital Partners, that the conglomerate of investors have “serious plans” for the Magpies, which involves long term backing in the immediate transfer markets.
It is said that the group, fronted by Dubai-based Staveley, want to see continuous improvements made to the playing squad following their takeover, and are not concerned by the threat of relegation as they are aiming for a higher league position than is currently eyed.
Ashley, who has been at the helm of the Tyneside club for the last 10 years, officially put the club up for sale earlier in the season, as he looked to end a tumultuous decade in charge of the Magpies.
The Sports Direct supremo has reportedly been engaged in negotiations with Staveley for the last couple of weeks, and was said to be close to securing a £300million deal with his fellow businessperson last week, although talks are still ongoing.
It is also said that the businesswoman, who helped in an advisory role during the sale of Manchester City to Sheikh Mansour, was originally attracted to investing in Newcastle as a result of manager Rafael Benitez.
In other Newcastle United news, the club have made contact over securing a defender from these European giants.
