Report: Liverpool agree terms with elite European attacker
Liverpool FC have agreed personal terms with AS Monaco sensation Thomas Lemar, according to a report.
Yahoo Sport report that the Reds have an agreement in place with the French international, but do not want to meet the £87.5million valuation of the player.
Lemar has been the subject of widespread tranfer speculation since bursting onto the scene in the south of France, but it appears Liverpool have won the race.
Liverpool fans will be doubly excited, as it had previously emerged that Leonardo Jardim, the AS Monaco manager, has not ruled out a january transfer.
Football Insider verdict:
It seems unlikely that Thomas Lemar is going to be moving to Liverpool until they meet his valuation by AS Monaco. Barring an Alexis Sanchez like transfer debacle, it seems the only way the Reds will ensure they get Lemar’s services is to pay out. If they do, Klopp will inherit one of the most promissing attacking threats in Europe. Lemar constantly looks a threat whilst playing for Monaco, and has a host of European experience under his belt playing in the Champions League. The 22-year-old has plenty of time to adjust to the Premier League, and Klopp has a talent for transforming young players into world class performers.
In other Liverpool transfer news, the Reds have been linked with ‘the new Ronaldinho’.
