Philipp has impressed for the youth sides at Werder Bremen, having developed a reputation as a hot shot attacking midfielder with 20 goals and 25 assists in 38 appearances for the under-17 and under-19 sides.

This season has seen him continue his impressive development, with two goals and four assists for the under-19s.

Football Insider verdict

With the youngster demonstrating such impressive form it is no wonder that some of the top clubs in England are keen to snap him up. Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino is developing a reputation as a manager who shows faith in his youngsters, and so Philipp may view the North London side as somewhere he would be given game time for the senior side. However, there is a lot to be said for consistency as a young player, and Werder Bremen will certainly not want to be losing him any time soon. It will be interesting to see if Pochettino can convince Daniel Levy to invest in a promising prospect, with Liverpool’s reported interest sure to drive up the asking price.
