Report: West Ham on verge of signing 25-year-old international
By Aramide Oladipo
West Ham United are close to signing Osmanlispor midfielder Badou N’Diaye this summer, according to a report.
The Sun claims that officials from the East London club are set to travel to Turkey to complete a deal worth £8.5million for the 26-year-old.
This follows up from the story in the Daily Mail which claimed that West Ham were leading the race to secure the signature of the N’Diaye this summer.
The Sun report claims that Hammers boss Slaven Bilic is a huge admirer of the midfielder who has impressed over the last couple of seasons with the top-tier Turkish side.
The Senegal international secured a permanent move to Osmanlispor two years ago and he has produced some outstanding performances during his period in Turkey.
N’Diaye has demonstrated that he is capable of scoring from midfield, notching up 18 goals and providing seven assists in two seasons.
The midfielder has shown that he can perform on the international stage, making a total of eight appearances for the Senegal national team, including being involved in the African Cup of Nations last season.
N’Diaye currently has three years remaining on his contract with the Turkish side.
Football Insider Verdict
N’Diaye appears to have the necessary attributes to succeed at West Ham next season. The Hammers seriously struggled to find the back of the net last year and the midfielder can help them in this department as he has shown that he can score goals from his position. Securing the signature of the Senegal international would be a huge statement from the Hammers who are already reportedly closing in on Javier Hernandez and Marko Arnoutovic this summer. West Ham boss Slaven Bilic seems to have carefully assessed the players that can come in and provide more quality to the squad for the upcoming campaign and N’Diaye has the potential to become a fan favourite at the London Stadium next season.
In other West Ham news, the Irons have had a mammoth bid of over £24.3million accepted for this lightning quick Serie A star.
