Revealed: Big update on Leeds United appointing Daniel Farke – sources
Leeds United are confident of appointing Daniel Farke as their new manager next week, sources have told Football Insider.
Talks are at an advanced stage and the club now expect to secure a full agreement with the former Norwich City boss, 46.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Thursday (29 June) that Farke was close to agreeing terms with Leeds after emerging as the favoured choice of the hierarchy.
But the deal will not be finalised until the 49ers-led takeover gets the green light from the EFL.
Leeds confirmed earlier this month (10 June) that the American consortium is set to take complete control of the club, buying out Andrea Radrizzani’s 56% majority stake.
Farke is regarded as the best candidate to achieve instant promotion from the Championship following their Premier League relegation last term.
The German, who has already won the Championship twice with Norwich City, had been on a shortlist with Scott Parker and Patrick Vieira.
Leeds interviewed all three managers but Farke has emerged as the number one choice.
His last job was at Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach, but his contract was cut short when he was sacked after finishing tenth in the German top flight.
The 46-year-old has picked up 1.82 points per game across 138 matches in charge in the Championship.
Leeds return for pre-season testing on Monday (3 July), just over four weeks before the Whites’ season gets underway.

The club’s first friendly is against Man United in Oslo on 12 July.
Winger Tyler Roberts is the only player to leave Elland Road so far this summer – although more exits are expected following relegation from the Premier League.
