SPFL are waiting for clarity from the Scottish government and Uefa, and will then consult with clubs before making a decision.
The meeting took place amid a backdrop of Rangers’ accusation of serious foul play from the SPFL in the ballot to end the lower leagues.
Ibrox managing director Stewart Robertson told the SPL clubs yesterday that they will see Rangers’ evidence against the SPFL next week.
The Light Blues have claimed “bullying” and “coercion” of clubs by the SPFL and called for Doncaster and the league’s legal adviser Rod McKenzie to be removed while an investigation was launched.
