Club Brugge have submitted a bid for Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama and offered him a five-year contract, Football Insider can reveal.
The Belgian club are looking to take advantage of the 28-year-old’s availability as they work to negotiate a deal before the window shuts this month.
A Spurs source has told Football Insider that talks are underway with Brugge over the sale of Wanyama and they have already lodged of bid of nearly £9million.
The Belgian outfit, who signed Simon Mignolet from Liverpool earlier this month, have also offered the Kenya international a five-year contract.
This comes after Football Insider revealed earlier this week that Wanyama had instructed his agent to find him a new club before the main European windows shut at the end of the month.
The midfielder is interested in the possibility of moving abroad to reignite his career following two injury-ravaged seasons.
He has entered the final two years of his contract at White Hart Lane and the prospect of a long-term deal with Brugge is an attractive one after he lost his place in the Tottenham side.
Should the clubs not be able to agree a fee, a loan move is also a possibility or a loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
Wanyama was omitted from the Tottenham team for their opening two Premier League matches, failing even to make the matchday squad against Manchester City.
Teenager Oliver Skipp was preferred to the Kenyan last weekend, and the likes of Tanguy Ndombele, Harry Winks, Moussa Sissoko and Eric Dier are also ahead of him for the central midfield positions.
In other Spurs news, it can be REVEALED that the club are close to signing a record-breaking attacker.
