Revealed: Cole Palmer to leave Man City within weeks – sources
Cole Palmer is likely to leave Man City on a Premier League loan this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
A well-placed source has told this site that a temporary exit for the 21-year-old is seen as “suiting all parties” as he continues his development.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 July) that several clubs are eyeing up loan and permanent moves for Palmer.
Brighton, who will play Europa League football in the 2023-24 campaign, have been widely linked with a loan swoop for the youngster.
But it is believed Man City will rebuff any attempts to sign Palmer on a permanent basis as he is very highly rated by the club and manager Pep Guardiola.
The England Under-21 international is currently on duty at the Under-21 European Championships in Romania and Georgia ahead of the semi-final against Israel on Wednesday (5 July).
He has proved a versatile option for Guardiola since emerging from the Man City academy and can play on both flanks as well as in an attacking midfield berth.
However, Palmer managed just 850 minutes of football in the treble-winning campaign – starting seven times.
He made 25 appearances across all competitions, notching one goal and one assist.
The 21-year-old earns a reported wage of £20,000-a-week at the Etihad Stadium.

Willingness to sanction a loan for Palmer comes despite a possible exit for Bernardo Silva in the summer window.
Football Insider revealed on Monday (3 July) that Man City are growing more and more pessimistic about the possibility of keeping Silva – who is the subject of a “mind-boggling” offer in Saudi Arabia.
