Revealed: Everton stand to lose another £15m in shattering blow

Everton stand to lose another £15million even if the Premier League season is now completed by the end of July.

The Merseysiders are already facing massive financial hits from matches being staged behind closed doors and a dramatic loss of commercial revenue.

Analysis by Football Insider has shown that Everton would additionally lose around £15m in broadcasting rebates from the season not being completed by 16 July.

That is the original completion date in all of the Premier League’s broadcasting contracts.

It means the Premier League clubs must stump up a combined £330million even if the season is now finished, as planned, on 26 July.

That would come from a combination of money owed to home and overseas broadcasters, with around two-thirds to the UK-based trio.

Everton are not set to be as badly affected as the clubs at the top of the table, although that could change if they mount an unlikely late charge for a top-four finish.

The best-performing clubs will pay more of the rebate, as part of the broadcast fees is based on league position and TV appearances.

It would mean Liverpool repay £24.5m if they win the title, while bottom club Norwich would pay just £7.1m.

Everton would have to repay around £15m if they finish around 10th, a likely scenario given them are 12th in the Premier League table with nine matches remaining.

It comes at a time when Everton’s losses are being underwritten by owner and majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri.

The club announced a staggering £112m loss in their most recent set of financial results, the fourth biggest in Premier League history.

The Merseysiders have reported steep losses four times in the last five seasons, with the sole exception being a £31m profit in 2017.

In other Everton news, it can be REVEALED that the club are set to bin a senior forward after Ancelotti made up his mind.
