
Revealed: Leeds serve notice of major financial announcement
Leeds United have served notice their latest set of financial results will be announced in the next five days, Football Insider has learned.
The Yorkshire giants are legally obliged to publish their accounts for the 2018-19 season in which they narrowly missed out on Championship promotion.
Companies House has been updated today to state that Leeds’ accounts for the year ending 30 June 2019 are being processed and will be available for public scrutiny in five days.
As revealed by Football Insider, it is expected that the figures will show turnover at the club has increased above £45million and towards the £50m mark.
United’s last annual report showed their revenues rose to £40.8m during Andrea Radrizzani’s first full year at the club in 2017-18.
It had been £34m the previous year, which was Massimo Cellini’s final one at the helm.
However, the rise in turnover during Radrizzani’s second campaign will have been offset by a significantly enhance wage bill, leading to an even higher loss than last year’s £4.3m deficit.
Marcelo Bielsa and his coaching staff were handed deals worth £6m between them while deals of around £40,000-a-week handed to top earners Kiko Casilla and Patrick Bamford.
The Championship promotion hopefuls have nevertheless seen marked growth over the last four years, mainly due to increased commercial revenue, higher crowds and gate receipts.
Elland Road was regularly full to capacity during Bielsa’s first campaign, as it has been again this season.
