Revealed: The club Elliot Anderson is giving ‘priority’ to amid £100m Nottingham Forest demand
Elliot Anderson wants to join Man City over any other club if he leaves Nottingham Forest at some point in the near future.
Elliot Anderson has been a key man in midfield for Nottingham Forest since a £35million move from boyhood club Newcastle in July 2024.
He made 37 Premier League appearances last term, with two goals and six assists as they eventually finished in seventh place, and Forest were fearful they’d need to sell Anderson this summer amid PSR concerns.
His form has improved even further this term, with Thomas Tuchel handing him his England debut last month and Man City believed to be tracking Anderson’s services.
Forest are set to demand £100million for Anderson ahead of a potential January move, and a new update has now emerged over his desires for if he departs the East Midlands soon.

Anderson wants Man City move if he leaves Forest next summer
Forest hold a strong bargaining position regarding Anderson ahead of a potential departure in either of the next two transfer windows, after no additional clauses were included in his contract when he joined from Newcastle.
According to a new report from Sky Sport, Anderson has already informed his camp that he is “giving priority” to Man City for a future transfer, but is set to remain with Forest in the January window.
The Citizens’ scouts are believed to have already watched the England midfielder “more than 10 times” since the start of this season, but any deal could hit a snag due to the £100m fee, which is far higher than what City want to pay.
Thomas Tuchel praise proves Anderson’s quality
Anderson’s breakthrough into the England squad has been the main factor in his rise this season, with Tuchel handing him his debut and keeping him in the team ever since.
He looks set to be a starter at the 2026 World Cup if he continues impressing from now on, and the Three Lions boss Tuchel has heaped praise on Anderson in recent times, proving just how good he has been for Forest and his country.
Speaking last month, he said: “At the moment he is a key player for us. At the moment he is one of the best midfielders in the Premier League.

“That’s why he is with us and why he starts for us, because he deserves it. He is nothing but impressive and he has to keep on going.
“He is a very complete, mobile central midfielder. Elliot at the moment is an elite football player with the right attitude and talent.”
It should come as little surprise that Anderson is critical to Sean Dyche’s plans this season, and so losing his services in January is not something that Forest are set to entertain, but a move next summer certainly looks very likely.
