Revealed: West Ham in strong position to sign Alex Scott amid £25m reveal
West Ham are in a strong position to agree a deal for Bristol City sensation Alex Scott, sources have told Football Insider.
The ‘Guernsey Grealish’ is on the target list of multiple Premier League clubs and the Hammers have a concrete interest in Scott, who is valued at around £25m.
The London club are believed to be well placed to sign the 19-year-old should all parties be keen to progress a move.
The midfielder’s current contract runs until 2025 after progressing from the Under-18s side in 2021.
Scott made 49 appearances across all competitions last season and was in the starting lineup for 44 of those outings.
The England youth international netted two goals and offered up five assists in the 2022-23 campaign.
The youngster won the EFL Young Player of the Season award and has been talked up by City boss Nigel Pearson throughout the season.
As quoted by Sky Sports (21 June), Pearson said Scott is “destined for the very top” and the manager was full of praise for the midfielder’s temperament and unique talent.
Man City boss Pep Guardiola has even described Scott as an “unbelievable player” following their fifth round FA Cup victory over the Robins back in February.

Scott has also been impressing at an international level and was part of the England Under-19s side who clinched the European Championships title in 2022.
Although yet to be capped at a senior level, Scott has made 16 appearances for England at various age groups.
