Richarlison cited as Everton hit by big blow – ‘it’s not going to happen’
Everton must improve their attacking output after failing to register a shot on target in their last two games.
That’s according to former Hibernian striker Tam McManus, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about the Toffees’ struggles.
Everton failed to test Nick Pope as they lost 1-0 to Newcastle United on Wednesday (19 October).
As per whoscored, the Blues have now failed to register a shot on target in 180 minutes of Premier League action.
McManus insists the Toffees are still in danger of being sucked into a relegation fight due to their lack of attacking output.
“Everton have some promising players,” McManus told Football Insider‘s Ben Wild.
“Obviously losing Richarlison was a big blow for them but they are a club where the fans expect them to be in the top six or the top eight.
“With that squad of players, that’s not going to happen. They are building the new stadium so a lot of their money and their finances is going towards that.
“I think if Frank Lampard can keep them in the league, that’s okay. I saw them against Tottenham the other week and they were really poor.
“They didn’t cause Tottenham any problems and I saw that last night they didn’t have a shot on target again. That’s back-to-back games in which they have not scored, simply not good enough.
“I think they may be saved by the teams like Fulham who might go straight back down. But with this group of players, Lampard is doing well to keep them in the league.”

Everton have only won two games this season.
They are next in action against Crystal Palace on Saturday (22 October).
