Richarlison must end ‘antics’ to dazzle at Tottenham as another deal agreed – pundit
Richarlison must put an end to his “antics” if he is to succeed at Tottenham.
That’s according to former Leeds United stopper Paddy Kenny, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Spurs’ latest recruit.
Tottenham confirmed the signing of Richardson, 25, on Friday morning (1 July), as he became the club’s fourth summer signing.
Sky Sports report Spurs have paid £50million upfront with a further £10million in add-ons agreed.
The Brazilian joins Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son, Dejan Kulusevski and Lucas Moura as another attacking option available to Antonio Conte.
Kenny claims Richarlison can be a success at N17 but only if he cuts out the controversial side of his game.
“It’s a good signing for me,” Kenny told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I hope he shows what sort of player he can be and not let the other side of his game disrupt him.
“He needs to get his head down. It really shows Tottenham mean business now they are back in the Champions League.
“It’s massive for them and it shows they will have a strong team this season. £60million, for those kinds of players, that’s what you have to pay.
“That’s average these days. It’s good business as long as he sorts out those little antics that people don’t like because when he’s at it he is a brilliant player.”

Richarlison scored 10 goals in 30 Premier League appearances during the 2021-22 campaign.
Those strikes took his total haul for Everton to 53 goals in 152 games.
