Rico Lewis reacts to Oscar Bobb’s five-word message as ‘Man City plan revealed’
Oscar Bobb gained the attention of one of his Man City teammates on social media after returning to the pitch following a lengthy injury.
The 21-year-old winger, who fans have been patiently waiting to see star under Pep Guardiola, has made just three appearances during the 2024/25 campaign after sustaining a season-ending injury.
He suffered a fractured bone in August of last year, joining Rodri on the treatment table for much of the current campaign, but has recently returned to the matchday squad for limited minutes.
With Jack Grealish now expected to leave Man City this summer, and James McAtee only getting limited minutes at the Etihad Stadium, there looks to be a clear path for the Norwegian talent to thrive.
Now, Bobb looks to have dropped a hint over his future with City as a squad overhaul is expected in Manchester, taking part in a photoshoot for the club’s newest announcement.

Taking to Instagram (13 May), Bobb wrote: “New kit, same City blue,” with a light blue love heart, helping to announce the club’s new kit ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
With excitement building for the release of the jersey, Rico Lewis liked the post as the duo prepare to finally play together in the first team squad.
Sources told Football Insider in February that Bobb is set for a key role under Guardiola, having already put pen to paper on a new deal until June 2029.
Man City youngsters to steal the spotlight after summer rebuild
Football Insider verdict
The 2024/25 campaign has been an extremely disappointing one, with Guardiola coming under severe pressure from Man City fans after dropping out of the Champions League and EFL Cup at early stages.
While a top-two Premier League finish and the FA Cup trophy are still both on the cards, there have been far too many frustrating results, such as the most recent goalless draw with Southampton.
Premier League standings | Points |
2. Arsenal | 68 |
3. Newcastle United | 66 |
4. Man City | 65 |
5. Chelsea | 63 |
6. Aston Villa | 63 |
The additions of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzalez, and Abdukodir Khusanov, while exciting, have not helped stabilise displays across competitions, with a multitude of big-name exits expected now.
John Stones, Ederson, Mateo Kovacic, and Bernardo Silva could all follow Kevin De Bruyne out of the Man City exit doors, which signifies an emotional passing of the torch at the Etihad Stadium.
It may feel like a drastic change within the space of just a few weeks, but with Guardiola’s team looking very leggy this season, it could be what is needed to get back to the very top next season.
