Roberto Firmino backed to agree ‘big club’ move after Liverpool source’s reveal – ‘somebody told me,’ says pundit
Frank McAvennie has suggested Roberto Firmino could return to Brazil when he leaves Liverpool.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former West Ham striker said Firmino would also do well in Italy or Spain.
Last week it was revealed that the 31-year-old will be leaving Anfield in the summer when his contract expires.
On 4 March, Football Insider revealed that the forward refused to hold talks with other clubs before deciding to quit for free in the summer.
The Brazilian has spent eight years on Merseyside and is now keen to take on a new challenge.
Earlier this week (7 March), sources told this site that Barcelona and Inter Milan have registered their interest in the forward following his decision.
A Saudi Arabian club is also said to be readying a “huge offer” for Firmino.
When asked if the Brazil international still has what it takes to make it for a big European side, McAvennie told Football Insider: “Look at Barca at the moment with [Robert] Lewandoski, it is superb because he has got legs around him.
“In Italy, [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic when he is fit he is in the team because of his experience.

“Bobby Firmino’s touches are second to none, he knows everything that is happening around him and his control of the ball is superb. I think he has got a lot going for him.
“Inter Milan I can see that happening. I think he would do well in Italy. Somebody told me he wants to go home but I would not rule out a big club.“
