Robin Propper, Clinton Nsiala ‘bullied like two wee boys’ by Kilmarnock v Rangers
Robin Propper and Clinton Nsiala have been absolutely destroyed during the first half of Rangers’ clash with Kilmarnock on Wednesday.
Goals from Joe Wright and Brad Lyons saw Killie take a very quick two-goal lead at Rugby Park on 26 February, getting off to the worst start after the sacking of Philippe Clement.
Barry Ferguson‘s appointment until the end of the season was mostly greeted with a lot of excitement, and if hadn’t been for Vaclav Cerny’s 35th-minute goal, there would have been zero positives.

Barry Ferguson struggled in first Rangers game in charge
Taking to X [26 February], Tam McManus wrote: “Those two Rangers centre-halves, man. Absolutely bullied like two wee boys out there.”
Ferguson clearly agreed, hooking Nsiala off after just 31 minutes and replacing him with full-back Ridvan Yilmaz, which pushed James Tavernier into a centre-back role.
Supporters, understandably, were fuming with their team’s performance so far, with many saying that Propper was the one who deserved to be substituted as he continued to struggle.
Bobby Wales and Marley Watkins caused issues for the Dutchman for the entire first half, which inevitably saw the Light Blues head into the half-time break with a one-goal deficit.
Ibrox problems likely to continue until the end of the season
The Gers are looking likely to finish the game still 16 points behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, which is absolutely unacceptable.
Ferguson will quickly be coming to terms with exactly how impossible a situation he is now in as the manager, which might make him feel some empathy for Clement.
Kilmarnock | Rangers |
36% possession | 64% possession |
6 shots (3 on target) | 6 shots (3 on target) |
5 corners | 2 corners |
2 big chances missed | 1 big chance missed |
Funnily enough, Derek McInnes has been tipped for the permanent Rangers job in the summer, and that might be the only change once the season finishes.
The San Francisco 49ers could breathe new life into Ibrox with a Rangers takeover, though supporters will have to languish in the final few matches of the campaign until then.
There is still hope in the Europa League, with upcoming fixtures against Fenerbahce, but if the Gers play anything like they have done against Killie, it could be quite the thrashing in Turkey.
