Robinson ‘100 per cent’ sure Man City will reap rewards after Jack Grealish reveal

Paul Robinson has claimed Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland’s friendship will “benefit Man City on the pitch.”

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one can already see the duo’s relationship “bearing fruit” for Pep Guardiola’s side.

On Sunday (24 July), Haaland scored on his debut for City in a 1-0 pre-season win over Bayern Munich.

Grealish provided the assist for the Norway international’s goal and was later awarded the man of the match award.

As quoted by the Manchester Evening News (21 July), Grealish heaped praise on Haaland’s “brilliant” personality and revealed the pair had car shared already.

When asked by Football Insider if the duo’s relationship off the pitch will benefit their relationship on it, Robinson said: “100 per cent.

“Players of a similar age at a club tend to gravitate towards each other. They tend to socialise with one another as well because footballers lives are very different to other peoples.

“You cannot do what your mates are doing. You have to make sacrifices.

“To have somebody at your club, that you get on well with and can socialise with is great. It will only benefit the team on the pitch in the long run.

“You can see that relationship bearing fruit. It looks as if Haaland has settled in very quickly which bodes well for them ahead of the new season. I’m excited to see what he can do.”
