Robinson ‘amazed’ by Liverpool star Darwin Nunez after quotes emerge via BBC
Paul Robinson has heaped praise on Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez ahead of the visit of Leicester City.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 23-year-old “looks amazing” and only lacks a bit of confidence in front of goal.
Nunez led the line for Jurgen Klopp’s side in a 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Boxing Day.
Speaking to the BBC post-match (26 December), Klopp singled the striker out for his “top-class” display.
The Reds boss was unfazed by the face Nunez failed to find the back of the net.
When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Nunez’s form, Robinson said: “I think Nunez looks amazing.
“He is consistently picking up the right positions and making the right runs. He is just out of form finishing-wise. I’m sure he’ll find the net regularly once he gets two or three goals under his belt.

“He could have scored a bagful against Aston Villa. There was a moment in the game where he let the ball run across the box rather than shooting. That is the sign of a striker lacking a bit of confidence. Why would a goalscorer leave that kind of ball? A striker in form puts that chance in the back of the net.
“I think he is simply lacking a bit of self-belief. His runs and work-rate is excellent. His finishing can be worked on. It will come in time.”
