Robinson can’t believe Nuno after ‘unacceptable’ Tottenham reveal

Paul Robinson has slammed Nuno Espirito Santo after Tottenham failed to register a second-half shot for the third time this season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one said the stat “is unacceptable” for a Spurs side trying to overturn a one-goal deficit.

Tottenham dropped to sixth in the Premier League after a 1-0 loss at the London Stadium on Sunday.

The visitors failed to register a single shot in the second half, despite going a goal behind after 72 minutes.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of the stat, Robinson said: “You don’t know what Spurs are going to turn up.

“The creativity has gone. Spurs’ strengths are in the attacking two thirds and the manager is not getting the best out of the players.

“When you look at the players who start and the players on the bench, there is an immense amount of attacking talent. Nuno has not found a system which utilises the players.

“Yes, Spurs were good in the first half against West Ham but the second half was miles off. It doesn’t look a united team to me.

“If Spurs were playing well and losing you could understand it. It’s the performances that are the most alarming.

“To not have one shot in the second half when you are losing 1-0… It is unacceptable.”
