Robinson hails Celtic board as ‘brilliant’ transfer business completed

Paul Robinson claims the Celtic board deserve credit for their role in a productive transfer window.

The former Tottenham stopper, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the clubโ€™s busy summer.

Celtic signed 12 players this summer as Ange Postecoglou overhauled a squad that massively disappointed last season.

The Hoops have also started the season strongly and have secured a place in the group stage of the Europa League.

Robinson insists some credit has to go to the Celtic board after they backed their new manager.

โ€œThe board had to act, they had no option,โ€ Robinson told Football Insider assistant edit

โ€œThey brought in a new manager they have taken a chance on and they had to back him.

โ€œThey had no option but to back Postecoglou with funds and I think they have had a brilliant window.

โ€œThe season has started well. Before the Rangers game they were unbeaten in six and they were playing penetrative, attacking, nice football.

โ€œThe two games before that they won 6-0, it looks like times have changed.

โ€œObviously the Rangers game is a disappointment but the way they have started the season is a real breath of fresh air.

โ€œIt was a time of uncertainty. A lot of new players came in with a new manager who no one knew about.

โ€œThe board deserve credit for backing him but the next step is longevity and whether it can be held over a season.

โ€œThe early signs are promising. The way they are playing this year is night and day to last season.โ€œ
