Robinson issues ‘massive’ Bernardo Silva verdict after Man City transfer update via Sky
Paul Robinson has claimed it is “massively important” for Man City to keep Bernardo Silva this summer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one suspects manager Pep Guardiola is desperate to keep hold of the 28-year-old.
According to The Times‘ Duncan Castles (17 August), Paris Saint-Germain and prepared to pay £59million to sign Bernardo before the window closes.

However, Sky Sports reported (19 August) that Man City do not want to sell the midfielder and are not expecting bids from other clubs.
Barcelona have also been linked with a move for the Portugal international.
When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of the latest, Robinson said: “Silva still has so much to offer Man City.
“The type of player and character that he is, it is massively important that they keep him.
“It will be down to the player and what he wants ultimately. Where does he see his future?
“Pep will certainly not want to lose him. When you look at the starting XI, how would he get into that right now? [Ilkay] Gundogan is playing so well. [Kevin] De Bruyne and Rodri are always going to start in that midfield. You also have Kalvin Phillips in that mix. It is difficult to see when he’ll play.

“Bernardo is so versatile and so good though. He will not break the manager’s door down if he is not playing. There is a mutual respect there between player and manager.
“If I was Pep I would do everything I can to prevent him from going to Barcelona or PSG.”
