Robinson issues ‘massive’ Rangers claim after source’s Ryan Kent update

Paul Robinson has claimed “it would be a massive coup” for Rangers if Ryan Kent put pen to paper on a new contract at the club.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said there is “no douting” the 26-year-old’s talent despite his struggles of late.

Kent’s contract at Ibrox expires at the end of June next year.

Sources told Football Insider earlier this month (16 November) that the Gers were making a fresh attempt to tie the winger down to a new deal in Glasgow.

The ex-Liverpool winger will be able to speak to foreign clubs regarding a pre-contract from January.

It is understood that Michael Beale’s prospective appointment at Ibrox will have no bearing on Kent’s future.

When asked by Football Insider if the time had come for Kent to make a move to the Premier League, Robinson said: It would be a massive coup if Rangers can keep hold of him.

He has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a very long time now.

The opportunity to leave on a free does not come around often. Is this going to be his last opportunity to get to the Premier League? He needs to think about that.

He hasn’t been at his best this season but it would still be a huge coup for Rangers. There is no doubting his talent.”
