Pundit makes ‘incredible’ Chelsea claim after analysing Man United footage on MUTV
Paul Robinson has slammed Man United for giving Ole Gunnar Solskjaer an exit interview – and insisted it should have ended up on the cutting room floor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England goalkeeper compared the situation with Frank Lampard’s dismissal from Chelsea in January.
In a statement, United confirmed the dismissal of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on Sunday after a 4-1 defeat at Watford.
Shortly after his sacking, the United legend spoke to club media about his time in charge.
Robinson claimed the interview exposed all of the “flaws” in Solskjaer as a manager.
“You would never see Chelsea do that,” he told Football Insider. “You didn’t see them giving Frank Lampard an interview.
“Lampard was incredible for Chelsea. A true legend but when he was sacked there was no interview. They quickly appointed a new manager and won the Champions League.
“A lot of why Ole failed came across in the interview. He is a very nice, likeable guy who did not have the cutting edge. You need that cutting edge to control a dressing room and get the best out of your players.
“The interview showed why he is so likeable. You want him to do well but that’s not enough to succeed at the top level. At the same time, he showed all of his flaws.”

Michael Carrick is in charge of the first team until an interim manager is appointed.
He led the Red Devils to a 2-0 win over Villarreal on Tuesday night in his first game in charge.
