Robinson: Tottenham have ‘world’s best’ after ‘amazing’ footage emerges

Paul Robinson has claimed the Anthony Joshua-Oleksandr Usyk fight was “an amazing advert” for Tottenham and their stadium.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former White Hart Lane number one suggested the event showed the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to be “the world’s best”.

Spurs’ £1billion stadium hosted the heavyweight clash as Usyk upset the odds to become the WBA, WBO and IBF world champion.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was built with the view to staging big sporting events and concerts as well as football.

The club have already signed a 10-year contract with the NFL to host a minimum of two games per year.

When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs for his assessment of Saturday’s fight, Robinson said:

“It was an amazing advert for the club and the stadium. That is what it was built for.

“It was built to be an iconic stadium across the world and it is the world’s best. To host an event the size of that just shows the level it is at.

“It must’ve been great for Joshua to fight in north London as well, even though the result on the night was not what he wanted.

“It was a great showcase of the stadium and football, even though it was a boxing match. I think it will be the first of many fights there.

“There is a fine line though. They cannot use the stadium so much that it comes at the detriment of the pitch.”

In other news, a pundit has made a ‘ridiculous’ claim on Tottenham sacking Nuno amid a ‘crisis’ in north London.
