‘Ronaldo next’ – Celtic fans react on Twitter to forward signing

By Matt Bullin

Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to welcome new signing Jonny Hayes to the club.

The four-time Republic of Ireland international has out pen-to-paper on a three-year deal at Parkhead and the move also sees Ryan Christie moving to the Dons on a season-long loan.

The Bhoys announced Hayes’ arrival from Aberdeen on their official website and on their official Twitter account on Saturday afternoon.

Hayes becomes Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers’ first summer signing as he looks to further strengthen his treble-winning side.

The wide forward was in fine form for the Dons last term, providing a sensational 24 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions, as well as scoring 11 goals.

He signed for Aberdeen on a free from Inverness in the summer of 2012 , and he went on to play 207 league and cup games for the club, which yielded 30 goals and 71 assists.

The majority of the Parkhead faithful were keen to welcome the Irishman to their club, but one supporter just urged them to sign Cristiano Ronaldo next.
