Ross Wilson ‘should be arrested’ as Rangers now ‘in trouble’ – pundit

Frank McAvennie has claimed Ross Wilson “should be arrested” for the contract situations he left at Rangers.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Celtic striker said that given the Gers’ financial “trouble”, they should not have let so many players run their contracts down.

Star players including Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Ryan Jack could all quit Ibrox for free this summer when their current deals expire.

Former sporting director Ross Wilson left the Glasgow club earlier this month to join Premier League club Nottingham Forest as their new chief football officer.

Wilson left Michael Beale ahead of an important transfer window and with seven first team contracts to sort out.

McAvennie is still shocked at Wilson’s decision making.

Rangers being in the trouble that they are, Ross Wilson should be arrested,” he told Football Insider.

He has let all these players go. You can’t let players like that run their contracts down. I really think it is a crying shame for Rangers.

I do not want them to go bust again, I like having them in the league, it is great for the football.

Rangers

As relayed by the Daily Record (18 April), the Light Blues are set to issue three million new shares at 25p each.

The share issue is the second within the last month after they issued 7.7 million shares in March and marks the third time since February the club have raised cash through issuing shares.
